In a bold move to advance health innovation across Africa, we at the Ifakara Innovation Hub (IIH) and the Centre for Rapid Prototyping and Manufacturing (CRPM) have forged a cross-border partnership between Tanzania and SouthAfrica. This collaboration represents not just a milestone for IIH and CRPM, but a significant leap forward in our shared mission to transform the health innovation landscape in Africa.
A Journey of Collaboration Between IIH and CRPM
This partnership didn’t happen overnight. It began in May 2024 during an initial meeting in South Africa, where CRPM hosted our Director – Masoud Mnonji for discussions that quickly revealed numerous opportunities for collaboration.This productive dialogue led to a follow-up visit by CRPM to Tanzania, which proved crucial in shaping the direction of our partnership. Together, we identified how best to support each other—and more importantly, how to empower the startups we serve.
To culminate this collaborative journey, we officially officiated the partnership on the 6th of August 2024, marking a significant milestone in our shared mission. This event celebrated the partnership and set the stage for the impactful work ahead.
