Clean, sustainable and affordable energy for all.
The Problem
According to the Society of International Development, 70% of urban households in Tanzania use wood fuel and charcoal as an energy source for cooking. 90% of people in both urban and rural areas prefer wood and charcoal as energy sources as they are affordable. Despite charcoal and wood being harmful to human body and the environment, people still prefer charcoal and wood than other energy source like LPG that is expensive
Our Solution
Mkaa Safi provides an affordable charcoal alternative, priced 30% lower than traditional charcoal. This sustainable solution leverages waste materials like coconut shells, molasses, and palm shells to produce un-carbonized charcoal. Mkaa Safi's charcoal is not only cost-effective but also user-friendly for home use, offering fewer side effects compared to regular charcoal.
