The Problem

We conducted research among households in Ifakara and found that 95% rely on charcoal and wood for cooking. These energy sources release carbon dioxide, leading to serious health issues such as lung cancer and tuberculosis. This highlights a critical need for cleaner, safer cooking alternatives to improve public health and reduce environmental impact.

Our Solution

Pamoto Poa addresses this need as a locally made gasifier stove designed for safe household use. It doesn't release soot, providing a healthier alternative to traditional cooking methods. Additionally, it offers an affordable energy source, making it accessible for local communities and contributing to better health and environmental outcomes. Pamoto product is an innovation by PIS (Pace Initiative for Smallholders).
